Exploring the Future of Drone Technology

 

Esri China (Hong Kong) participated in the International Low-altitude Economy Summit (ILAES) at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, joining global leaders to explore the future of the low-altitude economy (LAE). Esri China (Hong Kong) hosted a booth demonstrating ArcGIS capabilities for unmanned aircraft operations and flight path simulation.

 

Speaking as Founder and Chairman of Esri China (Hong Kong) and Founding Vice President of the Greater Bay Area Low Altitude Economy Alliance (GBA LAEA), Dr. Winnie Tang, MH, JP, presented the progress of three ArcGIS-powered regulatory sandbox projects at the summit.

 

Mr. Tony Chan, Business Development Director of Esri China (Hong Kong), further explained why GIS is central to overcoming Hong Kong’s challenges in LAE implementation, and emphasized how the ArcGIS-powered unmanned aircraft system traffic management (UTM) system, drone flight risk modeling, and real-time situational awareness can support the safe, data-driven, deployment of LAE applications.
