LexGoTech Roundtable Explores AI and LawTech
As a member of the Consultation Group on LawTech Development from the Department of Justice (DOJ), Dr. Winnie Tang, MH, JP, Founder and Chairman of Esri China (Hong Kong), was invited to share her insight on technology at the recent LexGoTech Roundtable Series, held at Justice Place on the topic “AI and LawTech: What It Means for In-house and Government Lawyers and Legal Educators”.
Addressing an audience of legal professionals, legal educators, and government lawyers, Dr. Tang highlighted that AI and LawTech are no longer concepts for the future — they are already reshaping how professionals work, learn, and deliver services. She discussed how advancements in digitalization, automation, and data analytics are transforming research, collaboration, and case management, thereby creating both new opportunities and important governance considerations.
Deputy Secretary for Justice, Dr. Horace Cheung , SBS, JP, expressed his appreciation for Dr. Tang’s participation. He noted that the LexGoTech Roundtable helped guide participants to explore the opportunities and challenges that AI and LawTech bring to the sector and to envision the future direction of Hong Kong’s LawTech development.
