GIS Lectures Delivered

Across Hong Kong and Shenzhen

 

Sr Professor Paul Tsui, CEO of Esri China (Hong Kong), delivered four invited lectures across Hong Kong and Shenzhen, highlighting how GIS and emerging technologies are shaping smart cities and sustainable development.

 

He began his tour at the Systems Engineering and Engineering Management Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), presenting on how spatial analytics, knowledge graphs, and location intelligence support decision-making. At The University of Hong Kong (HKU), Prof. Tsui spoke to Master of Science (Geospatial Data Science) students about GeoAI, digital twins, 3D GIS, and reality mapping, showcasing their growing role in urban planning and environmental monitoring.

 

He then visited CUHK’s Department of Geography and Resource Management, sharing real-world GIS applications for smart cities development. The series concluded at CUHK–Shenzhen, where he discussed GIS for sustainability and digital transformation with students from the School of Humanities and Social Science. Prof. Tsui also introduced career pathways in GIS to the students, highlighting the strong professional growth opportunities at Esri China (Hong Kong).
