Imagery Seminar Showcases
ArcGIS for Reality Mapping
More than 100 GIS professionals from the government, engineering, utilities, and academia attended the Imagery & Reality Seminar co-hosted by Esri China (Hong Kong) and Esri APAC at InnoCentre. The event highlighted the growing importance of advanced imagery analytics, drone mapping and GeoAI solutions.
Esri APAC GIS experts introduced the latest developments in the ArcGIS Reality ecosystem, including ArcGIS Reality Studio for high-accuracy large-scale 3D production, enhanced Site Scan for ArcGIS workflows, and new capabilities for integrating satellite and drone imagery. A key highlight was Esri’s emerging support for 3D Gaussian Splatting, a breakthrough technique for reconstructing lifelike 3D environments from conventional imagery—opening new possibilities for digital twins, infrastructure assessment, and immersive visualization.
The Esri China (Hong Kong) team further showcased practical applications using local data. Demonstrations included: real-time video analytics with ArcGIS Excalibur and ArcGIS Video Server; GeoAI model training for drone and CCTV imagery via the ArcGIS API for Python; and reality mapping workflows designed for construction monitoring, maritime enforcement, and city operations.
