EPD Developed ArcGIS Pro Add-in

to Empower Noise Assessment

The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) has launched the Road Traffic Noise Assessment Method – Hong Kong (RONOSS-HK), an ArcGIS Pro add-in designed to streamline and standardize the territory’s road traffic noise assessment process. Built directly in the ArcGIS Pro environment, the tool modernizes how planners, engineers, and environmental consultants simulate road traffic noise in Hong Kong’s uniquely dense and vertically complex urban landscape.

To learn more about how to implement the ArcGIS Pro Add-in, please visit the EPD’s guideline for Road Traffic Noise Assessment Method Hong Kong (RONOSS-HK).

Using the ArcGIS Pro add-in “Road Traffic Noise Assessment Method – Hong Kong (RONOSS-HK)” together with Hong Kong’s 3D Digital Map enables users to assess building-level noise impacts and compare different noise mitigation scenarios with decent 3D visualization.
