Surveyors Seek New Practices under

the New Normal Brought by the Pandemic



The surveying sector has evolved and adopted smart tools to the new reality in the post-COVID-19 era. The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) Annual Conference deliberated on the impacts brought by the pandemic, discussing how surveyors should adapt to new practices under the new normal and explore more exciting possibilities in the upcoming prospects for the surveying industry.



Sr Paul Tsui, the Vice Chairman of HKIS Land Surveying Division and the CEO of Esri China (Hong Kong), moderated a discussion session on 25 September 2021. Director of Lands Department Mr Andrew Lai, and Prof Shi Wen-zhong from Polytechnic University and Director of Smart Cities Research Institute, shared their expertise of industrial building revitalisation and the spatial prediction of COVID-19 onset risk respectively.
