Surveyors Seek New Practices under
the New Normal Brought by the Pandemic
The surveying sector has evolved and adopted smart tools to the new reality in the post-COVID-19 era. The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) Annual Conference deliberated on the impacts brought by the pandemic, discussing how surveyors should adapt to new practices under the new normal and explore more exciting possibilities in the upcoming prospects for the surveying industry.
Sr. Paul Tsui, the chairman of HKIS Land Surveying Division and the Chief Executive Officer of Esri China (Hong Kong), moderated a discussion session on September 25, 2021. Director of Lands Department Mr. Andrew Lai, and Professor Shi Wen-zhong from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Director of Smart Cities Research Institute, shared their expertise of industrial building revitalization and the spatial prediction of COVID-19 onset risk respectively.
