ISPRS C.P. Lo Travel Grant

Carries Forward GIS Pioneer’s Legacy

The legacy of GIS pioneer Professor Chor-Pang Lo continues to inspire a new generation of geospatial professionals through the newly established “ISPRS C.P. Lo Travel Grant.”

In July 2026, Dr. Winnie Tang, MH, JP, Founder and Chairman of Esri China (Hong Kong), traveled to Toronto, Canada, to mark the inauguration of the Travel Grant at the XXV Congress of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS).

Established in honor of Professor Lo’s contributions to photogrammetry, remote sensing and geographic information systems (GIS), the Travel Grant aims to support young scientists in overcoming financial and geographical barriers to participate in the international ISPRS Congress, broaden their horizons and engage in academic exchange.

Dr. Tang, a student of Professor Lo, made a donation to The ISPRS Foundation to support at least one young scientist at each of the next four ISPRS Congresses. Each recipient receives a certificate and a travel grant of HK$25,000.
