Dr. Tang Appointed to
Conservation Advisory Role
The Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government has announced the new appointments to the Advisory Committee on Countryside Conservation (ACCC) for its upcoming term. Dr. Winnie Tang, MH, JP, Founder and Chairman of Esri China (Hong Kong) has been appointed as a non-official member, serving a two-year term starting from July 1, 2025.
Participating as a member of the ACCC, Dr. Tang attended the launch ceremony and seminar for National Ecology Day on August 15, 2025. The event brought together leading ecologists, scholars, and geography experts in deep dialogue on national ecological goals and to promote environmental conservation, green low-carbon growth, and harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.
Since its establishment in July 2019, the ACCC, chaired by the Secretary for Environment and Ecology, has played a key role in guiding conservation efforts. Its responsibilities include advising on priority projects for countryside conservation and revitalization managed by the Countryside Conservation Office, as well as providing recommendations related to the policies, management, and financial strategies of the Countryside Conservation Funding Scheme (CCFS).
