Students Unleash Geospatial Intelligence

In Satellite Image Analysis Competition

The GeoSpace Innovators Challenge 2025 successfully concluded on July 4, 2025 at the Learning and Teaching Expo 2025, where the participants from secondary schools in Hong Kong leveraged Esri’s ready-to-use satellite imagery analysis web applications — Landsat Explorer and Sentinel 2 Explorer to tackle real-world challenges, such as studying urban heat islands and proposing sustainable town planning solutions in Hong Kong.

The champion team from Kowloon Sam Yuk Secondary School demonstrated the use of Landsat Explorer for the study of surface temperatures in Hong Kong urban areas.
