The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) launched the HKIS Awards 2024 to recognize the outstanding achievements of Hong Kong surveyors and provide a prestigious platform for surveyors to showcase their excellent work. With the theme “Surveying for a Sustainable Future”, the HKIS Awards received an overwhelming response from various sectors about creating a sustainable environment in the surveying profession. 

A jury panel, formed by eleven industry leaders including Dr. Winnie Tang, MH, JP, Founder and Honorary President of the Smart City Consortium (SCC), conducted a rigorous review process of screening, site visits, and jury panel presentations. The Airport Authority Hong Kong's Reclamation of Three Runway System Project at the Hong Kong International Airport was selected as one of the most outstanding projects, winning the HKIS Excellence in Surveying Award and the Grand Award in Construction (Infrastructure) Category.

Throughout the evaluation process, Dr. Winnie Tang expressed that the way surveying professionals had leveraged their surveying knowledge and expertise to align with the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations has been both enlightening and inspiring. She also congratulated all the awardees of the HKIS Awards 2024 and wished greater success for those who contribute to the surveying industry in Hong Kong.
