The buildingSMART International – Asia Summit 2024, hosted by buildingSMART Hong Kong, China with collaboration from buildingSMART China and buildingSMART International, was successfully held in June 2024. Esri Inc. was proud to be the Diamond Sponsor for the Summit, driving the conversation of openBIM, GIS BIM integration, and smart city development at this 2-day conference in Hong Kong.

The Summit commenced with industry keynotes. Dr. Jack Dangermond, Founder and President of Esri Inc., delivered a recorded speech to address the latest trends and developments for the applications of geospatial technology in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry. Ms. Zoe Zhang, Regional Business Development Manager of Esri APAC, and Mr. Daniel Chantlos, Senior Solution Engineer of Esri (APAC), gave presentations to introduce ArcGIS capabilities for the latest AEC industry. The presentations focused on four key solution areas: Digital Environmental Impact Assessment (Digital EIA) for sustainability and resilience, Site Scan for ArcGIS for field reimagination, ArcGIS GeoBIM for GIS and BIM integration in a connected data environment, and Esri's deep learning packages on ArcGIS Living Atlas for GeoAI automation.

Following the Summit, Esri China (Hong Kong) organized a technical seminar – Advancing AEC with Cutting-edge GIS Technology. The seminar delved deeper into the practical applications of GIS in construction site management. It showcased the adoption of the Smart Site Safety System and presented successful use cases demonstrating how GIS contributes to creating a sustainable construction environment.
