Winners of the Esri YSA 2022

Deliver Successful Presentations

The Esri Young Scholars Award (YSA) 2022 Presentation and Award Ceremony was successfully held on July 26 at H6 CONET to recognize the winning GIS projects from tertiary institution students. As our Company celebrates its 25th Anniversary of establishment, we have coordinated with our strategic partner the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) and 10 supporting organizations to offer special prizes to recognize the achievements of geospatial innovation by young people. Please check here for the results announcement and winners’ StoryMaps presentation.

The presentation ceremony was kicked off by Sr. Paul Tsui, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Esri China (Hong Kong). In his welcoming remarks, Sr. Tsui encouraged the youth to study GIS. By joining the YSA, they would find benefits in their studies, employment, and entrepreneurship. He also extended his gratitude to the URA for their generous support of offering internships to the winners. Additionally, Ir. Wai Chi Sing, Managing Director of the URA and the Guest of Honor, delivered the opening speech and acknowledged the importance of studying GIS.

During the ceremony, all winners from different categories shared their exemplary geospatial works through ArcGIS StoryMaps with innovative applications of ArcGIS technologies. These covered  topics of wheelchair user accessibility, urban renewal, the Northern Metropolis development, the Internet of Things (IoT) and GIS integration,  etc. Please visit https://bit.ly/3BCvh5p for the video of the ceremony.
