“Create Your District” Competition

Organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS), “Create Your District” Competition 2019 encourages students to explore the rich history, cultural traditions and city development of the Tsim Sha Tsui District. Esri China (HK) supported the event by delivering a workshop on 25 July 2019, in which we introduced how GeoPlanner for ArcGIS could help students better analyze their data and let them control how individual things are extruded in 3D.

A workshop was delivered by Esri China (HK) to assist students in achieving their goals.

In the workshop, our trainers have shared some useful tips and skills in using ArcGIS ProGeoPlanner for ArcGIS, creating 3D data, and sharing their projects by ArcGIS StoryMaps.

The updated version of StoryMaps contains a dozens of new features that make it easy for anyone to make a story of their own. Some of the newly added features of ArcGIS StoryMaps include:

  • A single and flexible builder that may ultimately replace an array of classic storytelling apps.
  • It is easy to make simple maps by express maps which can be used to quickly create locator maps, show an array of points, or add arrows and annotations.
  • A design panel lets you change the look of your story with a single click. You may also choose from a variety of cover layout options, customize accent colors, and add your organization’s logo.
  • Add text, photos, and videos to existing ArcGIS web maps and web scenes to create an interactive narrative that is easy to publish and share.
