At the 2016 Esri User Conference, Esri President Jack Dangermond presided over the Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award ceremony to recognise organizations that have used GIS to improve the world and set new precedents throughout the GIS community. From thousands of organizations worldwide, Mr Dangermond personally reviewed and selected the winners.
Over 100 or almost 10% of primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong have enrolled in the Map in Learning (MiL) Program since its launch mid last year. Hong Kong is the first city in Asia to implement the initiative through which we hope to improve students’ skills in problem solving, data analysis, technology integration and innovation.
Recently, Esri China (HK) has proudly sponsored two accelerator programs in Hong Kong, namely “Infiniti Accelerator 2.0" and “The 2016 DBS Accelerator, powered by Nest”. Under the programs, all short-listed startups around the world will be invited to Hong Kong to accelerate their businesses under the guidance of dedicated mentors.
Esri announced the release of Esri CityEngine 2016, a modeling technology that allows GIS professionals, 3D artists, architects, and urban planners to create smart 3D city models in a matter of minutes.
Esri will soon update our World Imagery map with exquisite new content acquired through a new subscription to DigitalGlobe’s current and complete high-resolution satellite imagery mosaics for the entire world.
