The HKU Super Angel Symposium 2026 showcased Hong Kong’s growing momentum in innovation and entrepreneurship through two days of exchange, insight, and collaboration. The event brought together some of the city’s brightest minds from academia, government, technology, investment, and research to accelerate a fast-evolving innovation ecosystem.
Professor Stephanie Ma, Vice-President of the University of Hong Kong, Ms. Lillian Cheong, JP, Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Dr. Winnie Tang, MH, JP, Chief Convenor of the HKU Super Angel Network, set a powerful tone for the event by sharing a forward-looking vision for university-driven innovation in Hong Kong.
Dr. Winnie Tang, MH, JP, highlighted the importance of building a diverse, resilient, and connected startup ecosystem that can turn ideas into impact. The event also underscored the growing role of AI and deep-tech innovation in driving new opportunities from research to real-world application.
A major highlight was the launch of the HKU Venture Mentoring Service (VMS), Hong Kong’s first MIT-authorized sister program, which introduces a structured mentorship model for founders.
