Hong Kong Education City (HKEdCity) celebrated its 25th anniversary with a ceremony on March 14, 2025. During the ceremony, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony took place, solidifying key partnerships with four strategic partners, namely the Smart City Consortium (SCC), the Education University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers, and the Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited. Dr. Winnie Tang, MH, JP, Founder and Honorary President of Smart City Consortium (SCC); Dr. Choi Yuk Lin, JP, Secretary for Education, HKSAR Government, and Mr. Armstrong Lee Hon Cheung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hong Kong Education City witnessed the signing of the MoU.

These collaborations aim to deepen the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Education Technology (EdTech) in schools, nurturing the next generation of innovators. Dr. Choi Yuk Lin commended HKEdCity for being a close partner of the Education Bureau and actively supporting the government's strategy for IT education development. As part of its anniversary celebrations, HKEdCity announced plans to co-host the “Digital Education Week” with the Education Bureau in July 2025. This event will feature a series of activities, including the “Learning and Teaching Expo” organized by SCC that will take place in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on July 2-4, 2025.
