Dr. Tang Gives Opinions in the EMSD Symposium 2022

 

Organized by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD), the EMSD Symposium 2022 was successfully held on January 20, 2022. In the panel discussion on the topic of “Smart Green Hong Kong”, Dr. Winnie Tang, founder & chairman of Esri China (Hong Kong) and founder & honorary president of Smart City Consortium shared her insight on how geographic information systems (GIS) and the integration between Building Information Modeling (BIM) Data Repository can facilitate smart city development in Hong Kong. 

 

 

With the theme "C0-innovinity" to promote carbon neutrality and collaboration in innovation, the EMSD Symposium attracted over 1,400 participants from various sectors through a virtual meeting. The panel discussion was moderated by Professor Christopher Chao Yu-hang, Vice President (Research and Innovation) and Chair Professor of Thermal and Environmental Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Dr. Tang had a fruitful idea exchange with Mr. Chan Ka-kui, the former Chairman of the Construction Industry Council, Ir. Dr. Hon Lo Wai-kwok, Legislative Council of Hong Kong (Functional Constituency – Engineering), Ir. Samantha Kong Wing-man, Senior Engineer of Ove Arup and Partners Hong Kong Limited, and Ir. Ivy Leung Yick-laam, Electrical & Mechanical Engineer of the Drainage Services Department.
