Free Workshops Promote GIS Knowledge
Esri China (HK) invited more than fifty ArcGIS users to join our free workshop titled “What’s New – ArcGIS Online and My Esri Portal” on 17 January 2020, aiming at improving the user experience and providing a portal for users to get the latest information about the ArcGIS platform. All of our users have been pleased to learn that new software releases are automatically made available on the My Esri Portal. Users may also create technical support cases if they encounter any issues when using ArcGIS software. The newly updated ArcGIS Online allows users to jumpstart ready-to-use applications and dashboards on the cloud with ArcGIS Apps on any desktop and mobile devices without installation.
Attendees of the “What’s New – ArcGIS Online and My Esri Portal” workshop were pleased to acquire new knowledge about ArcGIS Online.
On 20 January 2020, we offered the “2020 Esri Young Scholars Award Briefing & Training” workshop to a group of university students and encouraged them to participate in the Esri Young Scholars Award (YSA) by submitting their GIS projects. In the workshop, our colleagues shared the rules and regulations about the YSA, and also basic GIS technical skills in using ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS StoryMaps for their projects. We look forward to receiving more practical and meaningful entries before the deadline this year.
