A Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award cum Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony with MTR Corporation Limited (MTR) was held on 26 February 2019. MTR won the SAG Award 2018 to recognize the outstanding work that the company has done in utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) effectively. MTR stood out from more than 100,000 others as it has been able to use the geospatial platform and data analytics proactively in the maintenance of railway asset.

In the ceremony, Esri China (HK) and MTR signed an MOU to further promote GIS and develop more smart applications. The two companies agree to collaborate further in exploring possible solutions which will enhance railway operation and asset management using technologies including GIS, data visualization and data analytics.
