MiL Program Teacher Training Workshops
Empower Innovative eLearning
Around 50 teachers from local primary and secondary schools have attended the 3 teacher training workshops organized for the Map in Learning (MiL) Program in January and February.
Esri China (HK) colleagues showed participants how to use ArcGIS Online for teaching activities.
Map in Learning (MiL) Program is organized by Esri China (HK) and Hong Kong Education City (HKEdCity) with the support from the Education Bureau (EDB). The teacher training workshops are provided under the Pilot Scheme of the program with the Association of I.T. Leaders in Education (AiTLE) as co-organizer. Those Pilot Schools which have joined the scheme will learn from the workshops and use ArcGIS Online in learning and teaching activities, and share their experience, insights and innovative ideas with the community afterwards.
ArcGIS Online is a cloud-based mapping platform, easy to use and accessible at anywhere, anytime on any device for everyone. Under the MiL Program, teachers can integrate online mapping technology and spatial analytics into different subjects like STEM, PSHE, Liberal Studies, General Studies and even Languages, etc. to engage students in the innovative and interactive learning atmosphere. After having attended the training workshops, many teachers shared their positive feedbacks about the mapping platform and the MiL program.
There will be more activities under the MiL Program in the future with the ultimate goal to develop, promote and sustain an excellent eLearning environment and resources in education for our next generations.
