Map4Kids Planted Seeds of Creative Learning
The Esri Map4Kids 2017 hosted by Esri China (HK) in Hong Kong Science Park on 12-13 August, 2017 was a big success. Participated children from local primary schools have enjoyed a fun and meaningful event.
Esri China (HK) Chairman, Dr. Winnie Tang and colleagues enjoyed Map4Kids 2017 together with participated children.
The event is Esri China (HK)’s first public event in celebration of the company’s 20th Anniversary. Its objective is to provide a chance for P.1 to P.6 students to learn about GIS, which is an interesting, interactive and innovative digital mapping tool.
During the event, we brought the world’s landscape to the eyes of participated children by engaging them with hands-on activities. They have gained a greater understanding of population, climate change, waste management and energy on our planet after the event. It is also believed that GIS has enabled them to think differently and creatively through learning, using and sharing digital maps and geographic information.
Cellphones were used for children to try the taste of GIS in the event.
