TWGHs Joint Secondary Schools
Outstanding GIS Application Competition 2018/19
To cultivate more smart people in a smart city, a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) competition was conducted for students studying in junior secondary forms at the 18 secondary schools of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs). An award presentation ceremony and exhibition was successfully held on 4 May 2019.
Esri China (HK) joined hands with Hong Kong Education City to provide software support and training workshops for the TWGHs students, who can acquire GIS knowledge for their study and research in the context of smart cities. We are pleased to find that all submitted projects can make wise use of the GIS technology to solve daily life issues in the smart Hong Kong.
The competition was vigorous but valuable. After a fair judgment process, the results were announced as follows:

An award presentation ceremony was held for the TWGHs Joint Secondary Schools Outstanding GIS Application Competition 2018/19.
TWGHs Lo Kon Ting Memorial College won the champion with the project title “A Study of Open Spaces in Yuen Long”.
The 1st runner-up went to TWGHs Wong Fut Nam College with the project title “Mouse Plague in Hong Kong — A Study of Sham Shui Po’s Notorious Rodent Problems”.
TWGHs Li Ka Shing College won the 2nd runner-up with the project title “A Study on the Use of Electric Vehicles in the North District, Hong Kong”.
